Maximum Ink
This year the Atwood Summerfest is sure to please. There is an abundance of live music, Ale Asylum beer, and family fun activities with the Goodman-Atwood Community Center. The 26th annual Atwood Summerfest is coming this summer on Saturday, July 26th. This free-entry festival runs from 12-7pm on the 2000-2100 blocks of Atwood Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Maximum Ink/Ale Asylum Rock Stage will be showcasing the local talent of the God’s Outlaw, Lucas Cates Band, Motor Primitives, Tex Tubb and the Jokerman, and Good Time Camper. Watch these artists bring their own unique style of rock back to Madison.
Headlining the rock stage this year are Bloodshot Records recording artists the Dead String Brothers, known for their rock music with a honky tonk twist. Years of touring have taken the band across the United States and recently to the South by South West music festival in Austin, TX. We are honored to have this band join us in supporting the Madison community. See their MTV video and listen to songs at myspace.com/deadstringbrothers
In addition to the rock stage, Maximum Ink will be holding a raffle with some great prizes and all proceeds going to support the Goodman Atwood Community Center, a non-profit organization.

COUGAR (w/ El Valiente, Revolving Doors)
Saturday November 10th
High Noon Saloon – 701A East Washington Ave.
9pm - $8 - 18+
Emergency rockers Cougar will be stopping in Madison on Saturday, Nov. 10th before heading off on a European/UK tour. The group is currently working on a new album, scheduled to drop in 2008. Cougar’s previous album ‘Law’ was quietly released to critical acclaim last year, garnering praise from The Wire, Pitchfork, CMJ, XLR8R, Resonance, Guitar Player and more. Since then, Cougar has toured the states and abroad, recently joining indie-rockers Maximo Park on their sold-out UK leg. The upcoming tour sees Cougar in Germany with 65daysofstatic, another British band, and headlining dates in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland and the UK.
Cougar’s instrumental music falls somewhere between Four Tet, Tortoise, Fugazi and Nick Drake if all were imagined mashed up, sans vocals and pro-cinema.
Local Kissers spin-off El Valiente and Madison/Milwaukee collective Revolving Doors open the show, making for a night of eclectic instrumental music.
