About

Understanding GIMP Radio requires a little background. GIMP Radio began in the autumn of 2002, when I was discussing with a friend that I wasn’t getting enough airtime at the radio station where I only had a 3 hour show once a week in the middle of the night. I, being Lucas Osmond, aka The Gimp. My friend explained to me that you could broadcast audio over the internet. It occurred to me that in internet radio broadcasting there are no rules as far as the FCC and censorship goes. Thus, GIMP Radio was born. Some of the stuff we talk about and play might piss you off, but hey, it might even make you think.  And really, if we cared what you think we would work for Clear Channel.

As far as the music goes, well, we have a large and eclectic collection of music. If you have music that you feel should be heard, we’ll play it.  Just contact us. Let me clarify, you never know what you’re going to hear.  One minute you could be listening to BB King, then the next it might be Led Zeppelin, Eminem or Garth Brooks.  Anyway, if you have a short memory, I’ll reiterate; very eclectic. Also, perhaps my favorite part of what GIMP Radio does is giving unknown and local artists a venue for their music.
